Our client is a dynamic and high growth specialist SME business operating within the Construction / Engineering Sector with a group turnover in excess of £15m / £3m EBITDA business with additional expansion ahead.

As part of the companies continued growth, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a qualified accountant to join the business as Head of Finance / Finance Director.

This position will be afforded hybrid working however some travel to the companies head office based in Derbyshire is required.

This position will support the Managing Director and will operate as the No 1 in Finance for the business ensuring the Financial Management of the Group whilst also having commercial and strategic input to aid the company’s growth

• Managed cashflow proactively to address shortfalls through YOY growth.-
• Directly managing a team of 5 to ensure deadlines are met.-
• Production and review of management accounts for 3 group companies and presented consolidated figures on a monthly basis. –
• Leading board meetings to review and address strategic and operational issues
• Prepared budgets and forecasts for funding partners and key stakeholders
• Introduction of department specific KPI analysis to increase accountability and insight.
• Review VAT returns, managed HMRC account and negotiated payment plans.-
• Liaise with external auditors
• Review and improve company process controls and finance systems.
• Support MD with future strategic and growth plans to include M&A

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified and ideally have the benefit of previous PQE gained within the Construction Industry.
Those that are QBE or P/Q but have demonstrated experience gained in such a leadership position will be considered.

A good level of IT Literacy is key with a ERP system migration likely in the near future.
