The Role:

We are seeking a creative, energetic individual for an exciting new social media and communications position. The Social Media and Communications Executive will work closely with the Head of Marketing and other marketing team members to create engaging content for our social media presence, including keeping our many social media channels updated and brand-focused, whilst seeking out new social media and communications avenues and ways of engaging with our wide ranging audiences.

Our ideal candidate will have a creative background as they will be responsible for creating and editing pictures and videos, and visual content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube with the aim of growing our social media accounts and taking them to new heights.

You will have been involved in writing blogs and / or press releases and will be happy to pick up the phone to speak to a local paper for story sell-in. Previous press release writing experience either as part of an agency or client-facing role will be significantly advantageous and won’t pose a challenge for you!

In more detail - we are looking for someone to:

• Build and execute a successful social media strategy that will improve brand awareness, visibility and engagement at all social levels
• Take ownership of the entire Social Media process from content creation, scheduling, analysis to reporting
• Manage all social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other relevant platforms for all our brands
• Produce engaging written and visual (images and video) content to support social media messages
• Create press releases and news articles by liaising with our stakeholders to gather the startings of a story and turn it into something newsworthy
• Liaise and engage with local and regional press teams for news article sell in with a polite persistence to get a story run
• Be engaging, approachable and available to key strategic influencers via email and social media and actively seek to organically grow our base of brand ambassadors
• Monitor all user-generated content and respond accordingly in a timely manner
• Use social tools and Google Analytics to report on and measure success to inform future planning
• Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content
• Assist marketing team with large projects and events
• Other activities as reasonably required

The Person:

You will have a natural creative flair and will be well clued up on social media. You will be keen to help, learn and develop and will be happy to chip in when needed. Above all else, you will be an excellent communicator (writing, speaking and over the phone) and will have some photographic / video editing skills that may have come from a previous role or a personal interest. Prior experience from a PR perspective will be advantageous and you will have probably gained experience in a similar role already.
