My client a well established firm of solicitors and due to continued growth they now have a vacancy for a legal cashier / accounts assistant.
Working from the offices in Milton Keynes you will report into the Head of Finance.
Main Duties of the Role:
• To reconcile the bank accounts daily and liaise with bank promptly with queries
• Reconciliations and central records. Ensuring signed statements received monthly
• Reconciling month end statements, manual checking of computerised month end reports
• Logging receipts at start of day
• Daily inputting all financial postings accurately
• Daily Internet Banking system – processing payments and receipts
• Processing card payments electronically
• Processing of office transfers daily – maximise office bank credit. Daily Action Reports
• Monthly Designated Interest postings
• Cheque production (purchase ledger)
• Ensuring compliance by liaising and communicating with staff members
• Various analyses as required
• Assisting all employees and customers with all Accounts queries
• Liaising with Bank
• Credit control – system reminder letters and dispatch
• Filing daily work
Skills Required:
• Computer literacy – Excel, Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of SAR advantageous
• Basic Accounting experience and good analytical skills
• Knowledge of Purchase Ledger systems
