JOB / ROLE PURPOSE:

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of Purchase Ledger, from processing invoices and credit notes through to paying suppliers.

The Accounts Assistant will need to consistently meet month-end reporting deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

• Responsible for matching invoices with purchase requisitions and entering those invoices into Sage
• Responsible for ensuring invoices are sent to the correct responsible person for authorisation, and monitoring level of unauthorised invoices to ensure timely payment of debt
• Responsible for checking and processing employee expenses submitted
• Effective communication with all purchasing departments to improve company performance

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Timely and accurate processing of invoices / credit notes to ensure all purchases are reported correctly in the accounts
• Completing BACS runs through Sage and sending out remittances
• Maintenance of Supplier accounts in Sage – updating details when necessary and monitoring accounts to clear credit / debit balances
• Processing employee expenses submitted through the Portal
• Updating various Excel spreadsheets for the Financial Controller as and when required
• Dealing with supplier payment queries professionally and efficiently either verbally or in writing
• Accurate and timely filing off all paperwork
• Communicate effectively with all departments and to work effectively with the other members of the Finance team
• Opening and distributing post

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Experience in a similar role (preferable)
• Experience of Sage (advantageous)
• Available to commence work at short notice / immediately
