A fantastic opportunity for an experience finance professional with experience leading a team to join a professional company based in Kettering. Core purpose is to drive performance and maintain the professional standards of the team.

Key Responsibilities Include:
– Provide technical and professional expertise and leadership to the team
– Manage team by driving the output forward, managing individual performance and administering workflow and associated software
– Process and performance improvement
– To be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of financial processes
– To carry out ad hoc support to the Head of Finance and Directors as required
– To effectively lead, engage and manage a small team of accounting staff
– To proactively support the team’s learning and development both technically and
– To manage the performance of the team members through setting objectives,
monitoring, and reviewing progress and completion of monthly one to one staff
assessment and appraisals
– To effectively manage absence and performance issues within the team
– Provide encouragement to team members, including identifying areas for new
– Assisting management with hiring processes and new team member training
– Assisting the management with identifying succession planning within the team
– To support the Head of Department and to cover management duties when they are absent as and when required
– Conduct team meetings to update the team on best practices and continuing expectations
– Ability to prioritise and organise workloads to ensure personal and departmental deadlines are adhered to.

Key Skills:
– Wide experience of working in a finance or accounts environment
– Ability to lead, manage and support a small team
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems with an ability to prioritise
– Good knowledge of a variety of accounting software and Microsoft Office
– Supportive of colleagues
– Able to inspire and motivate others, lead by example
– Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
– Reliable, organised, and methodical

Experience and Qualifications:
– Qualified by experience, Part-Qualified or qualified with a recognised Accounting Qualification
– Experience in leading people effectively, operating within a similar Team Leader
role or Senior Leader finance role
– Must be a team player
– Experience of payroll and VAT returns is an advantage
– Good IT knowledge including accounting software
