FRS are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an SME business based near Gravelly Hill, Birmingham.
The role will report into & work alongside the Finance Director and will have a salary attached around £35k, potentially flexible depending on experience.
Suitable candidates will be locally based, available at short notice, no more than 1 month ideally & have worked within an SME environment previously.
Duties Will Include:
* Manage all accounting operations: accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and month/year-end support for a group business (5 companies)
* Prepare and present financial statements & management reports
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning
* Maintain and optimise finance systems, with a focus on QuickBooks (or similar systems knowledge such as Xero or Sage etc)
* Strong MS Excel experience would be an advantage for data analytics and reporting etc
* Mentor and supervise an AAT apprentice, supporting their development and day-to-day tasks etc
