We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant with aspirations to progress their skills and development.

This role will become part of an established brand within the finance team, taking responsibility for the purchase and sales ledger, predominantly.

Duties include:

Sales ledger
– Raising automatic sales invoices
– Raising manual sales invoices
– Raising ad hoc sales invoices
– Processing customer debit notes
– Allocating customer receipts to customer invoices
– Credit control, including investigating and solving outstanding debt through to receipt of cash
– EDI queries

Purchase Ledger
– Inputting purchase invoices
– Matching payments to invoices
– Creating payment runs
– Supplier reconciliations
– Clearing GRNI
– Credit card
– Expenses

Cashflow
– Daily reconciliation and reporting of cash (GBP and EUR)
– Processing cash entries
– Maintaining the cashflow forecast

Other
– Preparing for and participating in, the year end audit
– Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
– Ad hoc work in relation to role
– Development opportunity tasks
– Fixed assets, VAT, Intrastat
– Balance sheet reconciliations
– Accruals and prepayments
– Mobile phones and utility analysis

Experience and Qualifications:

– 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English, or the equivalent
– AAT part qualified or qualified by experience
– Confident with numeracy and understanding of VAT
– Understanding of accounting and finance in a fast paced environment
– Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel spreadsheets and email
– High level of accuracy and attention to detail
– Highly organised with excellent time management skills
– Ability to work under own initiative and to deadlines
– Great interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers
– Good at team working
