My client is a well-regarded, privately held and largely self-funded business operating within the Construction, Property Development and Investments Industry with a history of over 40 Years UK Trade from their Head Office based in North London and therefore easily accessible from Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
As part of the companies continued expansion both with the UK and International, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Finance Director to join the business at this exciting time.
Current output of the business is around 50-80 units per year across London, Home Counties and wider London Commuter Belt which is expected to increase to 100-150 P/A with the current pipeline.
This position is being recruited as a full time, permanent position and will play a key role as part of a small finance team taking a Lead role in the Groups Construction / Property Development Business (20 Companies)
As Finance Director, you will work closely with the Group CEO, Chairman and CFO (who has more focus towards Group / Private Family Office Duties)
• Reporting monthly management accounts to management team and directors with all supporting balance reconciliations
• Budget and five year forecasting for business plans
• Review balance sheet accounts reconciliations prepared by the Financial Controller
• Cashflow forecasting for business / Cash flow review on daily basis, report rolling 12 month forecast on weekly basis to rest of board (with exceptional items reported immediately)
• Review existing Finance / ERP / Analysis / Forecasting Tools to ensure fit for purpose and grow
• Review of finance function, strengthening team to cope with growing business
• Ensure all financial reporting of business was completed in an accurate and timely fashion
• Group accounts consolidations for monthly reporting
• Ensure all company statutory as well as payroll functions were completed in a timely manner and settled all taxes at appropriate time
• Liaison with surveyors and construction director on various issues including cost valuation reports, work in progress reviews and VAT
• Preparation and filing of all statutory accounts and the preparation of monthly Financial Controller, in a timely fashion that was enabling us to reduce the auditing costs of the business
• Work closely with Directors around New Land / Site Acquisition
• Support the Group CFO with of Family Office Finance matters around International Property Portfolio / Investments / Charity, Trust and Tax Matters.
The ideal candidate will be or have experience within the below:
– Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with Upwards of 3-5 Years PQE.
– Strong background within Property Development / House Building / Construction
– Experience gained within a SME / Private Business ideally £10-80m T/O
– A hands on approach, comfortable with operating as part of a small finance team of 3-4 staff.
– Helping to evolve, improve and expand a SME business in terms of process / controls / systems
– Live within commuting distance to North London (expectation to be onsite a large part of the week to collaborate with Group CFO and Chairman)
