My client is a world leading PE Backed (EU Based) manufacturer and distributor of medical aids in both standard and customised form, with manufacturing facilities based in the UK, USA, Europe and China, United Kingdom, Mexico, United States, Germany, Holland, Poland, Spain and China and supplying 130 countries worldwide.

Due to continued growth, both organically and via acquisition, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Finance Analyst to join the Financial Reporting team.

Overview of Structure:

My client’s corporate finance function has a global remit and is therefore responsible for the financial direction of all group companies. The corporate team under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) consists of Accounting, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit and is based at the client’s UK facilities in the West Midlands. Within the Accounting team, roles are broadly divided into Financial Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

Overview of Role:

This position reports to the Director of Financial Reporting, and forms part of the financial reporting team. In summary the team is responsible for the Group’s Internal and External Financial Reporting, including the Group Audit and reporting to the Board and Banks.

The role is expected to be split between working from the West Midlands and working from home.

Principal Duties:

• Monthly reporting
o Accounting for a range of holding companies, including monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting
o Assist the Director of Financial Reporting in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the group consolidation, in the consolidation system HFM
o Responsible for monitoring all of the Group’s intercompany accounts, both P&L and balance sheet, following up on discrepancies with the relevant countries
o Management of the Group’s portfolio of leases accounted for under IFRS 16; work with the Controllers to ensure this is updated and reconciled regularly, and prepare monthly journals for accounting entries
o Provision of monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis to the Group CFO, and other internal management as requested
o Assist other members of the Financial Reporting team in reconciling the group-wide multi-currency cashpool

• Be a key role in the Financial Reporting function
o Build effective relationships with finance teams across the globe
o Develop an understanding of CEO report writing sufficient to be able to make changes to existing reports or create new reports
o Responsible for liaising with divisional finance teams to reconcile between entity IFRS results and local GAAP statutory accounts
o Other ad hoc tasks as required

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), or in the later stages of their studies, with the position being open to candidates seeking a first move from practice or those already working within industry.

– Theoretical knowledge of IFRS and group consolidations, with an interest in becoming a subject matter expert on leases
– Ability to deliver accurate results to tight deadlines, with good attention to detail and a flexible approach to work
– Advanced Excel skills and an aptitude for using systems
– Strong interpersonal and communications skills required
– Highly motivated, self-starter and results-oriented

This position is initially being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract, however prospect of extension can be offered.

A basic salary of up to £45,000 coupled with excellent benefits, bonus and flexible / hybrid working can be offered.
