Base Location: Leicester
Salary: £55,000, car allowance, partner private medical insurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

About the role:

The Financial Controller will be accountable for the integrity of the financial information in the Division, through the maintenance of an effective control environment.

To achieve the above the successful candidate will need to be a self-starter who can own and drive change through the division. They will be expected to have a passion for the quality of their output, an intolerance for inefficiencies and inconsistencies, and the ability and motivation to drive process excellence.

Key Accountabilities:

• The effectiveness of the financial control environment across UK&E, and therefore the integrity of the financial information of the UK&E Division
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence, to improve the quality and efficiency of the process that sit within that control environment
• Reducing variation and embedding changes to enable the generation of accurate data in our financial systems
• Driving, owning, and embedding the changes of process, and supporting the culture required to achieve reduction in variation across the end to end financial process set
• Working with Global Process owners to consider the effectiveness, and implement the improvements to end to end processes
• Translation of Group requirements and design and implementation of plans to deliver right first time, accurate responses
• Maintenance and periodic review of the Delegated Authority Matrix
• The smooth running of the External audit process and the minimisation of audit issues
• Building strong working relationships across the business, and particularly with company BPO supplier
• Driving a sense of team and common purpose with the BU financial controller roles
• Undertaking ad hoc projects as required

Essential qualifications, technical, professional skills, knowledge and experiences.


• Qualified accountant with experience of working in a large and complex environment
• Demonstrable experience of process improvement will be considered favourably


• Ability to demonstrate an understanding and adoption of company values and ethics
• Experience of coordinating external audit cycles for a large business
• Experience of working with a shared service centre
• Experience of delivering change across a multi stakeholder matrix environment
• Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards, and industry best practices and accounting skills
• Process and / or operational excellence, implementations and understanding of continuous improvement
• Good understanding of finance systems and standardised processes
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to influence
• Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
