My client is a leading business within the Technology sector, ideally situated within North Leicestershire and easily commutable from across the East Midlands.

FRS have been engaged on an exclusive basis to assist with the recruitment of a Head of Finance, to lead the finance team and work closely with the Managing Director.

The purpose of this position is to oversee the full financial and associated administrative functions of the business and financial aspects of international subsidiary business transactions, providing accurate and timely financial reports for all the elements of fiscal reporting and strategic planning activities, both at local and group level.

Financial Management
Ensure the sales and purchase ledgers are effectively set up and maintained within the requirements of the business, and corporate requirements
Preparation of month end accounts to enable accurate flash reporting on the fourth working day of each month, and detailed reporting for the 10th working day
Manage the cash position of the business in unison with subsidiary businesses
Provide coherent and accurate sales reports
Annually set out a budget timetable that creates sufficient opportunity for the management team to make appropriate contributions, and provide the key deliverables at a Group level
Implement and monitor effective expense policies
Ensure Contracts are set up within SAP accurately, reflecting the true position of the agreement, and approve on system
To ensure royalty / advance payments are made in accordance with contracts, and ensure contracts are processed efficiently
Coordinate on all auditors requirements and ensure the company meets its statutory requirements

Business Support
Ensure each Cost Centre Manager is provided with regular insight into their cost centre, and highlight where corrective action may be needed
Effectively liaise with all other departments, but particularly the sales teams and their fiscal impact
Support any ad hoc analysis that is required, with regards to strategic planning or problem resolution

People Management
Provide regular and ongoing direction and support for direct reports
Ensure all staff have roles and responsibilities clearly defined, annual objectives set, and appraisals completed
Ensure staffing structures provide appropriate levels of flexibility and skill level, to deliver on customer requirements
Ensure all staff are sufficiently well trained to execute their roles effectively, and where required delivering appropriate support to customers

Liaise with staff as required to ensure there is an appropriate level of co-ordination and visibility

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Professional Accountancy qualifications
Good leadership, organizational, communication, and motivational skills
Ability to both function independently as well as collaborating, using sound judgement to make decisions in a timely manner
Effective communication and leadership skills
Proactive, practical, and creative approach to solving problems
Proven ability to effectively manage and develop staff
