Are you a Management Accountant looking for a new challenge? Are you looking to be part of an ambitious and growing law firm, in a role that combines line and financial management? Are you looking for a challenging, stand-alone role in a fast paced environment?

As the ideal candidate, you will have experience of working closely with the FC and business partners as well as managing a small team, to achieve operational and financial targets.

So if you are a qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), have advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, this could be the role for you.

Your role will involve:

Leading month end processes, reconciliations and reporting, including:
– Posting of month end journals
– Fixed asset accounting, including register maintenance
– Balance sheet reconciliations
– Variance analysis, investigating any discrepancies
– Review of month end tasks performed by others in the department
– Other month end processes as required
– Managing the integrity of the nominal ledger, including setting up and maintaining nominal accounts and cost centres
– Leading the annual budgeting, and periodic re-forecasting processes for the firm’s central teams
– Working closely with budget holders and other heads of department, to develop and maintain the firm’s budget and forecast models
– Preparing the firm’s weekly cash flow forecasts
– Reviewing the firm’s payroll alongside the Payroll Manager
– Producing monthly management accounts for the bank and quarterly covenant reporting
– Compliance reporting – completion of the quarterly VAT returns, the quarterly EC Sales listing, National Statistics returns and other statutory returns as required
– Supporting the external statutory and SAR audit processes, and other ad hoc work

As part of the Finance team, you will be expected to have the following skills and experience:

– Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining and processing large volumes of data
– Attention to detail
– A robust approach to relationships and interactions with colleagues
– Able to build relationships across the business, and work effectively with non-finance colleagues
– Able to delegate effectively to others where appropriate
– The finance department is often a lively and pressurised environment, the job holder should recognise and respond positively to this as appropriate
– The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, and adhere to critical deadlines
– Previous experience of working in a client focused environment
