My client in Flitwick is currently looking for an Assistant Buyer.

Salary is £20,000 – £24,000 depending on experience and suitability to the role.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the day to day purchasing tasks as part of a team, including:

• Validate MRP demand and raise Purchase Orders for items generated by SAGE MRP
• Raise Purchase Orders in response to Manual requisitions
• Reconcile and chase order acknowledgements
• Ensure acknowledgement details match the PO and record on Sage
• Expedite Open orders, rescheduling as required
• Liaise with Sales / Customer Services on any discrepancies with delivery dates, between the Purchase Order and the required date
• Ensure open order reports are sent each week to suppliers
• Contact suppliers to check price and availability
• Liaise with NCR / Quality Department to solve and support any supplier related issue
• Maintain data integrity relating to purchasing on SAGE
• Cover for other department members when necessary

Key Skills:

• Basic understanding of purchasing concepts
• Self organised and team orientated
• Be a confident, clear and concise communicator
• Fully Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
