My client is an award winning business within the manufacturing sector and ideally situated within the Loughborough area.

Due to continued expansion they now have a vacancy for an experienced Management Accountant to join the team.

Working with the Head of Finance, the purpose of this position is to provide assistance with the monthly accounting routine whilst also providing commercial insight into business / market performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for the individual companies within the group (including analysis on key P&L accounts)
• Production of monthly pharmacy branch P&L accounts and raise discrepancies to managers as required
• Ensure accuracy of monthly provisions of branch, head office and regulatory costs
• Monitoring all overheads and looking at ways to drive efficiency
• Liaise with members of the branch teams to achieve monthly cost and sales targets
• Budgeting and forecasting, in particular for our product development and licensing of new products
• Recommend improvements to existing processes
• Managing the current team of two accounts staff (one full-time and one part-time) - responsibility for their performance, training and development
• Providing monthly financial management reports to the Board
• Leading on finance projects and initiatives in the business, ensuring projects and activities are delivered according to the agreed objectives and timescales

Applicants will ideally have an interest in working towards a professional qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) if not already qualified, and have previous experience within Management Accounts and ownership of P&L.

Whilst this role is highly commercial, a strong technical accounting knowledge is also key.

Good analytical skills to include intermediate MS Excel are essential, and experience of Sage Accounting Software is ideal, but not essential.

A basic salary of between £27,000 to £34,000 coupled with a study support package (if not already qualified) and excellent benefits await.
