This vacancy is within the accounting and office function of a firm of chartered accountants based in Northampton.
The role is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week, with the working hours being Monday to Friday and with flexibility on the start and finish times.
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum
Holiday: 22 days, plus bank holidays per year
Main Purposes of the Job:
• Maintain accounting records for the practice
• Sales ledger administration
• Credit Control
• WIP ledger management / administration
• Prepare monthly payroll
Key Tasks:
• Monthly bank reconciliation
• Monitor level of work in progress
• Ensure WIP that is billable, is identified
• Monitor all quotes
• Put agreed quotes into a letter of engagement
• Raise invoices in accordance with the letter of engagement
• Arrange standing orders in accordance with the letter of engagement
• Monitor standing orders that are coming to an end and issue new ones
• Issue statements each month
• Credit control
• Write time off the cost ledger against invoices
• Monitor cost ledger, to identify costs spent on work outside the letter of engagement
• Monitor recovery rates
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register
• Post small volume of purchase invoices
• Prepare monthly payroll reports for partner to approve
• Weekly meeting with partner
• Monthly reporting to partner
Key Objectives:
• Ensure smooth running of accounting function of the practice
• Report results and progress to the partner
Previous accounting experience in a similar role is required.
