My client is leading international manufacturing business, naming high profile companies such as JLR, Dana, and Rolls Royce as long term customers.

Following a recent acquisition of a business unit based in Tamworth, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a commercially focused accountant to join the business as Finance Manager.

This is an integral role for the business taking full ownership of all aspects of Commercial, Management and Financial Accounting for the divisional business unit whilst reporting into the Group Financial Controller

Reports to – Group Financial Controller

Responsible for – 1 Part Time Finance Assistant (whose principal responsibilities are to process A/P invoices / post cash receipts to A/R)


• Full responsibility for all aspects of Management Accounting for divisional business unit to include ownership of P&L, Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis of variances
• Review and amend divisional KPI’s and analysis to drive improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
• Business partner with key stakeholders across commercial, sales, operations
• Creation of reports with analysis and commentary to onsite SLT
• Assist Group FC with developing accounting controls, improving costs control/ analysis, labour efficiency reports
• Maintain stock records / stand costings / stock takes
• Ad hoc reporting – ONS , expense analysis, Quarterly VAT returns
• Ad hoc continuous improvement projects and assist with ongoing integration of new divisional business into group.
• Bank – Daily bank reporting – cash book reconciliation – coding/posting to nominal
• Reconcile TB Nominal Balance sheet control accounts
• Support Group FC with annual statutory audit and ad hoc tasks at month / year end.
• Monthly Payroll – maintain employee record starters/leavers/sickness/holidays – validate clocking’s – calculate gross pay
• Lead, guide mentor and develop small finance team ensuring transactional finance duties across AP & AR are completed within agreed timescales.

This is an integral part of the Management team working with all aspects of the business and therefore ideally suited to a candidate seeking a varied and challenging role where they can influence the business.

The ideal candidate will be working towards ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualification and have at least 2 years previous experience gained within a similar position.

A good level of IT literacy is required to include MS Excel (Pivots / Look Ups etc) as a key part of this role is reviewing and improving the analysis and commentary relating to financial performance and results.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required as this role does business partner across all key areas of the business.

In return a competitive basic salary of £40,000 to £50,000 DOE and Quals coupled with excellent benefits and scope for development awaits.
