Our client is a dynamic, privately owned SME Manufacturing Business with 3 sites based across the UK and USA with a UK Head Office ideally located within East Warwickshire and therefore easily commutable from across the wider midlands area.
As part of the companies ongoing growth aspirations, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Head of Finance to operate as the No 1 in Finance working towards a Finance Director position as the companies continues to expand over the next 24 Months.
Reporting into the Managing Director, you will become a key member of the SLT and whilst focused on Finance Management will offer wider exposure across IT, HR and Procurement
Role Objective
The Head of Finance will take full ownership of finance across Group.
This role bridges Finance Controller and Finance Director responsibilities — balancing day-to-day finance operations with strategic projects that prepare the group for scale.
They will deliver consolidated reporting, strengthen financial controls, and partner with the Board to drive growth, while also stepping in to support transactional activity when required. This is a role for someone hungry, ambitious, and commercially minded, who wants to grow into a Finance Director role and build their career long-term within the Group
Financial Control & Reporting
• Deliver accurate, timely consolidated group accounts (monthly, annual).
• Develop and embed a robust board pack that provides insight (sales, margin, cashflow, departmental P&L).
• Strategically lead intercompany reconciliations and FX management.
• Ensure compliance across UK and US legal/tax frameworks.
• Strengthen financial processes, systems, and controls across sites.
Strategic Finance & FP&A
• Drive financial planning & analysis (FP&A), providing insight and challenge to drive profitability.
• Create and implement an interdepartmental budgeting structure, enabling clearer cost ownership.
• Strengthen cost analysis and margin support across the business, with particular focus on manufacturing costings.
• Partner with the Directors on strategic projects and performance improvement.
• Build financial models for investment, growth, and scenario planning. Scenario planning is highly underutilised currently.
Strategic Projects
• M&A activity: Support due diligence, valuations, deal structuring, and integration planning.
• USA restructure: Redesign the operating model, legal entity review, and financial reporting.
• Group structure: Evaluate incorporation of a Business as a division rather than a standalone company.
• Board pack creation: Build a comprehensive, forward-looking reporting tool for the Board.
Commercial Finance & Procurement
• Support strategic procurement activities including supplier negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
• Develop and implement FX strategies to reduce exposure and protect margin.
• Strengthen customer onboarding processes, ensuring smooth integration of new business with finance.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Manage, Train, Mentor and Coach the existing team to maximise on strengths. Focus on a robust finance team structure that enables growth.
• Be a firm advocate and role model for the Group People strategy, including regular 121s, feedforward with candor and recognise the Servant Leadership model.
• Work alongside the MD, Ops Director and Subsidiary Managers to ensure cross-functional accountability.
• Build a culture of collaboration and high performance across finance and the wider group.
• Represent finance with confidence at board and leadership level.

Key Attributes
• Strong financial grounding (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, or equivalent).
• Excellent FP&A skills — ability to spot problems, challenge assumptions, and provide solutions.
• Commercially minded with experience in manufacturing (understanding of costings, production finance, margin control).
• Strong communicator — capable of holding their own with senior leaders and building relationships across sites.
• Pragmatic: willing to roll up sleeves to support the team with transactional tasks.
