Our client is a dynamic and high growth business operating with the retail Industry with the UK Head Office ideally situated within the East Midlands close to Jct 21 of the M1 / M69 and therefore easily accessible from across the Midlands area.

As part of the companies continued expansion FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of an experienced and Qualified Finance Leader to join the business as Finance Director.

This is a key position for this dynamic business with expansion planned via M&A in the immediate and potential IPO or PE Investment part of the longer term plan.

With the above long term plans, Finance Director will have a strong commercial focus but equally need to have a good technical / financial accounting grounding.
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of the group financial reporting requirements, lead the finance operations team and tax reporting, as well as supporting the financial governance and controls for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and decision-making processes of the company. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
• The Finance Director will work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial plans that support the company’s growth objectives.
• Management of a small finance team – lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and effectiveness.
• Management of Management Accounts team, FP&A & Finance Operations.
• Oversight of statutory reporting under FRS 102 and monthly financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure via Finance Operations.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to senior management.
• Ad hoc involvement in finance projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a fast paced retail environment.
• Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
